This Privacy Policy describes how Ghost Labs, LLC ("Ghost Labs," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information in connection with the Tidy Task & Loot mobile application (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
The short version
Everything lives in your iCloud and on your devices. We don't run analytics. We don't sell anything. We do not collect, receive, or have any way to access the chores, photos, profiles, or loot points your family creates inside the App. The dust pixie keeps your secrets — they're a professional.
1. Information collected by the App
Family content (stays on your devices and in your iCloud)
The App stores the following information on your device and in your family's private iCloud account. Ghost Labs has no access to it.
- Family profiles. The names, avatars, and (optional) PIN codes you create for parents and kids in your household.
- Chores and routines. Chore titles, descriptions, point values, due dates, and recurrence schedules you create.
- Photo proof. Photos taken inside the App as proof of completed chores. The App captures these images directly from the camera and stores them in your iCloud — they are never uploaded to Ghost Labs and never sent to any third party.
- Approval history and loot balances. Records of submitted, approved, and rejected chores, and the loot points each kid has earned and redeemed.
- Loot Shop items. The reward names, point costs, and notes you set up.
Information collected automatically
The very small amount of information we may receive automatically, through Apple, includes:
- Crash and diagnostic data. If you opt in via your operating system's settings, anonymized crash logs and performance data may be shared with us through Apple so we can fix bugs.
- App Store analytics. Apple may share aggregated, non-personal install statistics with us through their developer dashboard.
Information you provide directly
- Support correspondence. If you email us, we keep a copy of your message and our reply so we can help you and follow up.
We do not collect names, email addresses, contacts, location, browsing history, or device identifiers beyond what is described above. We never see the contents of your family's chores, photos, profiles, or loot balances.
2. How camera and photos are handled
The App uses the device camera to capture photo proof of completed chores. Important specifics:
- Photos are captured live from inside the App. The App does not access your camera roll or photo library.
- A real-time timestamp is burned into the captured image. This watermark exists for anti-cheat purposes only.
- Photos are stored on the device that captured them and synced through your private iCloud to other devices in your household.
- Photos are never transmitted to Ghost Labs servers and are never shared with any third party.
- You can delete any photo at any time directly inside the App.
3. Children's privacy
Tidy Task & Loot is designed to be set up and managed by parents or guardians for use within their own household. The App is not directed to children under 13 as defined by the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children online.
Because all family content (profiles, photos, chores, loot balances) is stored only on your devices and in your private iCloud account, Ghost Labs does not collect, store, or process any personal information about the children in your household. Parents have full control over kids' profiles, photo proof, and Loot Shop items directly within the App and can delete any of this information at any time.
If you believe a child has interacted with our company directly (for example, by sending us an email), please contact us at contact@ghost-labs.com so we can delete any related correspondence.
4. How we use information
We use the limited information we receive to:
- Operate, maintain, and improve the App;
- Diagnose and fix bugs and crashes;
- Respond to support requests;
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not run any advertising, cross-app tracking, or behavioral profiling. We do not use your family's content for any form of machine-learning training.
5. Sharing of information
We share information only in these limited situations:
- Service providers. We use Apple's App Store and Apple iCloud to distribute the App and provide family sync. Apple processes information under its own privacy policy. Family content stored in iCloud is governed by your iCloud account settings.
- Legal requests. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect rights, safety, or property.
- Business transfers. If Ghost Labs is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change.
6. Data retention
Family content (profiles, chores, photos, loot balances, Loot Shop) is retained on your device and in your iCloud account until you delete it or uninstall the App. Support emails are retained for up to 24 months unless a longer period is required by law.
7. Your choices and rights
- Access and deletion. Because all family data is stored on your devices and in your iCloud account, you can access or delete it at any time directly within the App or via your iCloud settings.
- Diagnostics opt-out. You can disable crash and analytics sharing in your device's privacy settings.
- Camera permission. You can revoke the App's camera access at any time in your device's settings; the App will continue to work for non-photo chores.
- Email us. You can email contact@ghost-labs.com at any time to request deletion of any support correspondence we hold about you.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK Data Protection Act, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), or similar legislation. We honor these rights regardless of where you live.
8. International users
Ghost Labs is based in the United States. If you use the App from outside the United States, you understand that any limited information we do receive (such as support emails) may be processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those of your country.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted in the App or on this site.
